Physical Therapy & Rehab

What conditions do physical therapy help?

Physical therapy helps improve mobility, relieve pain, restore function, and limit or prevent permanent disabilities patients suffer from disease or injuries. Physical therapy, also known as ‘medically-directed rehab,’ helps maintain and promote overall health and fitness. Our patients include individuals and victims with certain conditions like arthritis, low-back pain, fractures, cerebral palsy, head injuries, and heart disease.

Exercise is the best treatment included in physical therapy. It is recommended for patients who lack strength, flexibility, and endurance or who have been immobilized. The treatments used in physical therapy encourage individuals to use their muscles and maximize their range of motion and flexibility. It’s a good thing that advanced exercises these days mainly focus on improving balance, endurance, coordination, and strength. The goal is to develop how a person will function well at home and work.

Physical therapy can treat geriatrics, pediatrics, sports medicine, orthopedics, cardiopulmonary physical therapy, and neurology.

How does physical therapy work?

Infinity Health was built to give a trusted environment for healing and treating your body through physical or massage therapy and chiropractic. Our doctors will ask for a thorough history of your health. There will be an evaluation procedure to know the recent condition of your health and body, including biomechanics, posture, joint mobility, and range of motion. This is our way also to know the cause of your disability or pain. We will discuss the treatment goals and options to completely customize a treatment plan that will greatly help your condition.

Every session lasted for about an hour. The number of visits and the hours of treatment is determined by the doctor who gave the treatment. The result will also depend on the commitment of the patient to follow his treatment and how often he can perform each session.

What are the types of physical therapy Infinity Health offered?

Interferential Electro-Therapy

Interferential Electro-Therapy may provide the treatment with lower stimulated frequency placed on the soft tissue. It is one of the best methods in helping the body deal with sprains, issues related to soft tissues, and spasms. You will experience a light feeling while doing this therapy and several patients said that they feel very comfortable too with the procedure.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation

Electrical Muscle Stimulation helps the muscle relax and lets it go back to its normal condition quickly. It is an excellent physical therapy that works well if you feel a neck or back muscle spasm. It includes short therapy processes, which help facilitate the treatment and healing from chronic and acute pain.

Ultrasound

While its name is the same as the other type of ultrasound used to diagnose or screen an internal body, this ultrasound is different. It is a therapy mostly used in the office to deal with injuries related to muscle spasms, soft tissues, and joints. It creates tiny sound waves that result in vibration, which massage muscles and soft tissues. The sound waves do the job of supporting the body’s healing process and decreasing scar tissue formation.
