Parks and Zoos in Fishers, Indiana

Fishers has many different parks where people can gather to host social gatherings or hold events. The largest park is the Geist Greenway that features 765 acres of land, lakes, wilderness trails with boardwalks, and boat ramps. There are also two smaller regional parks: Community Park and Brady's Landing Community Park.

The community park includes a fitness trail, volleyball court, tennis courts, picnic shelters, two playgrounds, and an amphitheater. The trails at the park are open to bicycling and hiking. At the amphitheater, there are concerts during warm weather such as Big band dances on Thursday nights.

Brady's Landing Community Park is located on the site of a former sand and gravel pit. This park is known for its amphitheater, trails, and open meadows. Also at the park is a man-made fishing pond stocked with catfish and bass. The amphitheater hosts music events, plays, and other entertainment throughout the summer season.   

There are three different zoos in Fishers including Creekside Animal Park, Hamilton County Petting Zoo, and Nickel Plate District Community Park Trailside Nature Center.

Creekside Animal Park has animals of the Americas including bison, grey wolves, bald eagles, lizards, and many different birds of prey. The Petting Zoo is great for kids who want to interact with small animals such as pigs, goats, emus, and llamas. The Trailside Nature Center has over 100 native species of birds and animals including turtles, rabbits, coyotes, and otters. There are also many different types of fish, snakes, and frogs at the center too!

Fishers is an amazing place for families to go enjoy nature with its parks, trails, zoos, and outdoor activities. Whether you go to the Geist Greenway or Community Park there is a great opportunity to take a walk, bike ride, or hike. Also at the parks, there are many events for people of all ages!

Fishers also have many opportunities for families who love animals including the Hamilton County Petting Zoo and Creekside Animal Park where you can get up close with farm animals. So next time your family is looking for outdoor activities, come to Fishers and enjoy nature!
