How Does Chiropractic Care Help?
Chiropractic works by adjusting specific segments of the spine or extremities. When one of the bones in your back misalign, it causes a disconnection between your brain and other organ systems (like your heart, lungs, kidneys, etc.). This disconnection is what chiropractors call a "subluxation". By re-aligning the minorly misplaced bone (the subluxation) with a specific adjustment your body is more able to fully communicate and start working how it was built too! Our main goal is to get you out of pain, and feeling better as quick, and as safe as possible!!!
Do chiropractic adjustments hurt?
Chiropractic adjustments generally do not hurt; there is a possibility that you may be sore after being adjusted especially if it is your first time. We highly encourage using an ice pack, taking a walk after your appointment, and drinking extra water to help your adjustment sit in, decrease the chance of being sore, and reduce swelling.
How much schooling does a Chiropractor have?
Doctors of Chiropractic go through a minimum of four years of schooling at a chiropractic college. That is a minimum of at least 4,200 hours with their teacher, and a minimum of 1,000 hours of fully supervised clinical training with an instructor as they learn the appropriate diagnosis and treatment techniques to help heal your body and restore it to a better functioning state.
Does insurance cover Chiropractic visits?
Insurance coverage for chiropractic care
is dictated by your plan, benefits, and if we are in network with the insurance you have. When it comes to coverage, we have to consider your deductible, coinsurance, and copayments. Most plans will also have a limitation on visits yearly. If you do not have insurance or do not want to use your insurance, we do have very affordable cash plans that are cheaper than most insurance deductibles.
Is Chiropractic Care safe while I'm pregnant?
Chiropractic care is safe for pregnant women! In fact, regular chiropractic care during pregnancy may even help your pregnancy go a little smoother; you will just be taken care of a little differently than other patients to protect you and baby.
Is Chiropractic care safe for kids?
Absolutely! Chiropractic care can actually help kids with birth trauma, colic, constipation, ear infection, headaches, ADHD and more.
How long will it take to work?
The simple answer is we can't tell you a specific number of adjustments it will take to "Fix" you. There are a lot of things that can contribute to your recovery time. One thing is how long have you had the problem. If your problem is only a couple of days then it may not take as long as a problem you may have had for years. We don't give every patient the same care plan, it is individualized based on your history, new patient exam, and x-rays. From there we can give you a starting point with an estimate on what we think it should take to get you functioning better.
Are all patients adjusted the same way?
All patients who see Dr. Erich will be adjusted manually using a variety of techniques. Since everyone has different problems, that means everyone has different misalignments so not every patient is going to be adjusted the same way. The spots that will be taken care of are biased on your symptoms, your x-rays, and your exam findings.
Will I be required to remove my clothing at my appointment?
I Didn't Hear A Sound. Does that Mean the Adjustment didn't work?
It's important to know that you don't have to hear a "cracking" sound during/ after an adjustment for it to be effective. Everyone's experience of an adjustment is different! It really depends on the how long you've had the issue, how much force is used, and how much you come in. After a while you may not hear anything since your body has adapted to being adjusted.
Can I learn to adjust myself?
The simple answer is no! It's not safe! Unless you are inspiring to become a chiropractor, go to chiropractic school, and get licensed in the state, you cannot and should not adjust yourself.
